Resolution 1985 (2017)

The Foundation

Established the technical and administrative framework for SRDs, defining allowed frequency bands and power limits. While it standardized operations, it relied on physical certification and manual processes.

Key Technical Parameters (Still Valid):

  • 433 MHz: Remote controls, alarms (10 mW)
  • 902-928 MHz: IoT, RFID (500 mW)
  • 2.4 GHz: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth (1 W)
  • 5 GHz: Wi-Fi (Indoor/Outdoor restrictions)
  • 57-64 GHz: High bandwidth applications

Resolution 737 (2025)

The Digital Evolution

An amendment modernizing the framework effective February 2026. It introduces a mandatory digital compliance model to increase transparency and traceability.

New Obligations:

  • QR Code Labeling: Mandatory on device/packaging (≥ 1 cm²).
  • Digital Registry: QR must link to a specific Spanish-language compliance page.
  • Local Representation: Page must list a representative with a valid Chilean RUT.
  • Public Transparency: Technical sheets and Declarations of Conformity must be publicly accessible.
